Authentic Movement weekend workshop
The Art of Listening
“Authentic Movement, compassionate witnessing of moving becoming conscious, is a process grounded in the relationship between a mover and a witness.”
Janet Adler www.disciplineofauthenticmovement.com.
In these fluctuating times and polarised political climates we are called to listen deeply, to act and to respond. But how do we listen? What are we listening to? And how might we best respond to these signals that uphold our truth and at the same time respect the other?
This weekend we invite you into an inquiry of how we might listen consciously and clearly to ourselves and each other. We’ll use our bodies to engage in mindful movement, creative expression, the use of language in the articulation of our experience, silence and witnessing to fully participate in this inquiry.
This is an introduction to those who are new beginners to practice of Authentic Movement. It is an exploration that allows the potential for the wisdom of the body to emerge and inform a deepening level of consciousness. Authentic Movement draws from movement based practice, depth psychology and mysticism, the combination of which gives the opportunity to address all aspects of our human experience holistically.
Places are limited as the groups are held in an intimate and confidential setting. This is not a therapy group or a prescribed dance/movement class, but Andrea’s training as a physiotherapist, a somatic therapist (mindfulness facilitator, Authentic Movement practitioner and yoga teacher) and in group analysis has the skills to hold the group’s safety.
Please register your interest by contacting Andrea at firstname.lastname@example.org (Or go to the ‘contact me’ page to complete the online form) outlining briefly your experience in any body-mind practices, which will be followed up with an informal discussion to ascertain your suitability for the workshop.
